It has been a mixed night for Labour - they held on to the three mayoralties they were defending, but lost the Runcorn and Helsby parliamentary by-election to Reform UK by just six votes.
The visit, to a defence contractor in Bedfordshire, is to promote the fact that hundreds of highly skilled jobs are being supported by the RAF's new "cutting-edge UK made drones", known as 'StormShroud', which come into operation today.
