The home secretary says there has been a "significant increase" in the level of security afforded to MPs following the murders of Jo Cox and Sir David Amess.

Yvette Cooper was speaking after a man was arrested on suspicion of arson following two fires at houses in North London, both of which are linked to the prime minister.

Speaking to Sky's Wilfred Frost, she went on to defend Labour's immigration proposals, which were outlined yesterday by Sir Keir Starmer, which aim to reduce the number of people coming to live and work in the UK.
