6:35Now PlayingShadow home secretary Chris Philp says the Conservative Party is opposed to the building of a large Chinese embassy in east London.
A report in the Sunday Times claims the US has urged the government to reject plans for the building.
Mr Philp said the embassy was a "security risk".
"We should not be allowing the Chinese to build the super embassy, it is likely to become, a base for their pan-European espionage activities," he told Trevor Phillips.
