7,000 Afghan nationals are being relocated to the UK after their names and other details featured in a data breach by the British military.
The shadow chancellor told Sky News, "I think if there are tens of thousands of lives potentially at risk here, then I think you do have to take appropriate action to make sure you minimise the chance of people losing their lives or being tortured."
