10:22Now PlayingThe minister for migration and citizenship, Mike Tapp, has insisted the UK still intends to reform the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) so that "it's not being misinterpreted".
The immigration minister's comments come after Lord Hermer, the attorney general, told MPs that doing so would not be possible or would not lead to any results for years.
Responding to this, Tapp says that the UK is "working with our international partners and friends" on reforming the ECHR and that Britain is "leading on that and it could take some time".
