8:42Now PlayingLondon mayor Sir Sadiq Khan has been interviewed by Wilfred Frost on Mornings with Ridge and Frost after London recorded the lowest number of homicides in more than a decade, according to new figures from the Metropolitan Police.
The force said there were 97 killings in the capital last year - a fall of 11% compared to 2024's figure of 109.
Khan also told Mornings that he messages "regularly" with the new mayor of New York City, Zohran Mamdani.
He said his new counterpart is "going to do a great job in, I think, the second-greatest city in the world".
Khan has come under heavy criticism from Donald Trump over the last decade, and Wilfred Frost asked him if he has any tips for Mamdani.
He replied that Mamdani "doesn't need advice from me", but added: "What I would say to anybody is whether you're nine years old, whether you're 14 years old, whether you're older - don't let bullies win."
