Labour MP Chris Murray praised the "positive" news from the Home Office that a record number of illegal worker arrests and raids have been carried out by the Home Office in the past 18 months.

He confirmed "a significant number have already been deported - around 2,000".

"Whether you have concerns about immigration or whether you are pro immigration and welcome it - we all agree that the rules have to be followed, that the law must be enforced and people must be prosecuted when they don't follow the rules".
