22:05Now PlayingRevealed: the big security flaw being spread by AI
YouTube Description
as posted by the channelLeading cybersecurity expert Dan Lahav, who tests the security of AI models, reveals exclusively to Sky News a major problem with AI and password generation.
The issue affects some of the most used AI models such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini.
Sky News Technology Correspondent Rowland Manthorpe explains why AI-generated passwords hide a major security flaw and also discusses with Dan the broader issue of AI and cybersecurity, particularly in the context of AI systems being able to find and exploit security vulnerabilities.
We got in touch with OpenAI, Anthropic and Google about the issue of password generation. Google later responded to say: "LLMs are not built for the purpose of generating new passwords unlike tools like Google Password Manager, which creates and stores passwords safely. We also continue to encourage users to move away from passwords and adopt passkeys, which are easier and safer to use.” OpenAI and Anthropic declined to comment.
