Sir Keir Starmer has hit back at Kemi Badenoch's criticism of his handling of the emerging war in the Middle East.
The Conservative leader says he has been "prioritising his job security over our national security".
Starmer says that "hanging on to President Trump's latest words is not the special relationship". He claimed that joint defensive actions taken by the US and UK over the past few days is proof the special relationship is working.
Yesterday, President Trump said Starmer "is not Winston Churchill" and expressed frustration that the UK didn't participate in offensive strikes on Iran.
The Prime Minister says his "number one priority" is the protection of UK nationals, which is why he has sanctioned defensive actions following the attack of RAF bases in Cyprus and Bahrain by Iran.
