3:55Now PlayingPrime Minister Keir Starmer has launched Labour’s local elections campaign in Wolverhampton, pledging to “fight for every vote” and emphasising that “every vote is there to be earned.”
Speaking on the campaign trail, Starmer said Labour would approach the election with “good spirits” and a focus on “values and positivity,” while acknowledging the challenging backdrop of global instability and rising economic pressures.
He warned of a “war on two fronts” shaping the political and economic landscape but insisted Labour would provide “clear leadership” and repeated “this is not our war and we’re not going to be drawn into it”.
The Prime Minister also confirmed he will hold a COBRA meeting to assess the economic impact of tensions, including discussions around the Strait of Hormuz.
