The NHS is “failing women” according to Health Secretary Wes Streeting as he announces a sweeping range of measures to stop women being “gaslit” by the health service.

Streeting is unveiling reforms to tackle “outdated and misogynistic practices” around pain relief for invasive procedures. Women will also be given powers to contribute to the withholding of payments for services if they have a poor experience, the Department of Health and Social Care said.
