Here's my UMRAH VLOG from my 2015 trip- Makkah & Madina.

I went with my Mum so i wasn't able to the go to many places freely (as she was number 1 priority). Nevertheless it was still super cool, here's what I got up to.

General advice/tips I picked up from my visit:

-Be careful with the food and do your investigation (as most sell stunned Brazilian meat).

-In Makkah do as many Tawaafs as you can, at least 2-3 a day.

-What is the point in going to Makkah and not praying in the haram. So try to pray all your salaahs there.

-For Jummah, you have to go extra early i.e. 2 hours or so, and take some reading material eg. Qur'an, Seerah book, in case you get a space in an awkward place.

-Zuhr time is really hot on the ground floor so there are fewer people there. Put on a white scarf (white reflects light and keeps you cool) and do 2 tawaafs (one before Zuhr and one straight after).

-Another good time for tawaaf is late at night.

-Physical fitness and youth is very good to enjoy the umrah experience, therefore do not leave it for your old age.

-The time between Maghrib and Isha is very short, therefore it is best to stay there (you can get at least 2 Juz read at this time)

-Fix meeting points with your family members so you do not get lost. And learn the signs near your hotel on your first day so you do not get lost (also have the hotel card, so the police can help you in case you get lost)

Here are some creative ways of giving Charity i noticed in Makkah/Madina:

-Buy juices and give it to the poor pilgrims.

-Give money to the cleaners/workers in the Haramain.

-Give extra change to the stalls on the streets.

-Share your food with the poor and eat with them.

-Buys dates/nuts and share it while waiting for salah.
