4:55:33Now PlayingDefense Attorney Ahmad Cruz goes head-to-head with lead GBI investigators, Agent Bill Ricketts and Agent Elizabeth Bigham, the detectives responsible for securing the 2024 arrest warrant for Edrick Faust in the 23-year-old cold case murder of UGA law student Tara Baker.
In a blistering cross-examination, the defense plays shocking audio from Bigham’s May 2024 interrogation of the victim's boyfriend, Chris Melton. Cruz accuses the state of actively coaching Melton to change his timeline, floating a "booty call" theory, and intentionally "explaining away" Melton's DNA at the crime scene in order to pin the murder entirely on Faust.
Plus, the fireworks start before the jury even enters the room when the defense demands a mistrial over a bitter dispute regarding Faust's 2001 address!
