Many folks claim that the word rapture doesn't appear in the Bible, therefore the rapture teaching is false. I give three reasons why this claim is illegitimate. The third reason is that the word "rapture" actually does appear in the Bible in the Greek, the same way angel and apostle appear. Rapture is simply a transliteration of the Greek word via the Latin. It would be perfectly legitimate to translate 1 Thessalonians 4:17 in the following manner, "Then we which are alive and remain shall be RAPTURED UP together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.
