as posted by the channelStatus Coup's Louis DeAngelis spoke with East Palestine Ohio students McKenzie, Ronnie and Kylie—who revealed that their school East Palestine Middle School is still allowing students to pour water from the water fountains after the Norfolk Southern train explosion—despite many experts questioning whether the water in the village is safe (the parents of the children granted Status Coup permission to interview them and confirmed details of what their kids told Status Coup). In response to this, water treatment engineer Bob Bowcock, who has 30 years of experience, told Status Coup: "The drinking water will not see the contamination for at least a few weeks. I’m trying to calculate when… the schools should take extra precautions in this mess just because!"
The school superintendent confirmed for Status Coup that since the pandemic, students have not been allowed to put their mouth on the water fountain and drink from it—but they are able to pour water from it into water bottles. He confirmed this was still the case after the train explosion.
