Outside, pro-Palestinian protesters demonstrated against the sale of Palestinian land; on the opposite side, pro-Israel Zionists expressed support for the land sale and for Israel's broader assault on Palestinians in Gaza. In one instance, pro-Israel supporters physically assaulted pro-Palestinian protesters, punching them in the face. In many cases, pro-Israel supporters chanted slurs and offensive comments at pro-Palestinian protesters. Throughout, NYPD stood by and allowed pro-Israel supporters to antagonize pro-Palestinian protesters. The pro-Palestinian protest against the Palestinian land auction was organized by PAL-AWDA NY-NJ.
