9:18Now PlayingStatus Coup reporter Jordan Chariton interviews Lalo Rios Meza, a 22-year-old U.S. citizen who was attacked and arrested on January 11th, 2026 in Minneapolis at a Speedway gas station after a Border Patrol agent lunged at him and several other agents violently pinned him to the ground and then carried him face first to an unmarked vehicle. Meza was recording Border Patrol agents violently dragging a man out of his car when a Border Patrol agent confronted him ordering him to back up. Meza complied—but the Border Patrol agent pushed and then attacked him nonetheless. The Department of Homeland Security then posted a tweet, lying that Rios Meza had hit an officer—which video exclusively obtained by Status Coup clearly shows is a lie.
