as posted by the channelWhen I moved to Oregon I learnt a lot about the Lewis and Clark expedition. There was one man who was rarely mentioned though. York, Clark's slave, travelled farther than any African American at that point in history.
He may also have been the first African American to vote on an equal footing with European settlers. His story is a really fascinating piece of history so I thought I'd share it with you all.
