In February of 2024 a woman in Alabama got a phone call cancelling the embryo transfer she'd spent four years working toward. Nobody at the clinic did anything wrong. The state supreme court had just ruled that frozen embryos are legally children, and the Chief Justice who wrote the concurrence cited Genesis, the Ten Commandments and Thomas Aquinas. He has also said out loud, on a podcast, that he follows something called the Seven Mountain Mandate.
