Zohran Mamdani is showing that our government can actually work for people — not just corporations and billionaire donors.
In this More Perfect Union video, New York City’s mayor follows through on his promise to open city-backed grocery stores that cut prices on essentials, pay workers union-level wages, and bring affordable food back to working-class neighborhoods. This is government stepping in where corporate grocery chains and “the free market” have failed.
Instead of the Republican line that “government is the problem,” Mamdani is proving that when we use public power for the public good, we can:
Lower grocery prices and fight inflation
Support good-paying, union-standard jobs
Invest in communities that have been abandoned by private profit
This is what democracy looks like when it’s not captured by corporate interests: a government of, by, and for the people, taking on the cost-of-living crisis and winning small but real victories for everyday people.
