A Latin American president dragged out of power, and commentators patting themselves on the back for a flawless mission. The news wants you glued to the helicopters and the nighttime footage and Congress wants you questioning whether what Trump did is legal or moral so you don’t stop and ask, “What’s really going on behind this?”

This wasn’t some sudden moral awakening about democracy or human rights, and it’s not mainly about drugs either. For more than two decades, Washington tried to strangle Venezuela with sanctions, freezing assets, propping up opposition figures, and assuming they could keep those oil reserves under control forever.

I believe most of this venezuelan oil will go to refill the strategic oil reserve Biden tried to drain in order to lower gas prices in 2022 to win the election. However, President Trump knows oil and energy are power and he just made surte the United states now controls over 50% of the world oil reserves.
