Violent anti-ICE protests in Newark, New Jersey have entered their next phase as the Biden–Sherrill open-borders crowd turns on federal law enforcement. Outside the Delaney Hall ICE detention facility, rioters have spent days harassing officers, blocking access, and trying to provoke a confrontation. According to DHS, some protesters bit, kicked, and punched officers as they attempted to secure the perimeter. Yet Democrat Governor Mikie Sherrill has focused more on defending the “right to protest” than protecting the agents on the front line, even as local police are held back from clearing the streets.
Things escalated when one New Jersey thug was caught on camera screaming death threats at an ICE officer: “I’ll kill your whole family…your children, your wife, all dead.” Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche went on Fox News promising that this man would be hunted down and prosecuted. Within hours, the FBI visited his home, arrested him, and took him into federal custody for threatening to kill a federal officer and his family. Nine rioters have now been arrested, and Blanche is vowing more charges for those who assault officers or incite violence.
The question now is whether this mob really cares about “freeing detainees” or if they are trying to manufacture another Minneapolis-style incident—baiting ICE or police into a split‑second mistake so the left can scream “police brutality” on cable news. With cameras rolling, masked agitators, and weak Democrat leadership, the setup is obvious.
At the same time, even Wall Street is pushing back on far-left incompetence. JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon blasted New York City’s progressive Mayor Zohran Mamdani for pushing “tax the rich” slogans instead of doing the hard work of managing a $200 billion budget and keeping jobs and high earners in the city. Dimon warned that soaking the people who create jobs and pay most of the taxes is a recipe for collapse—not justice.
