Brink of War movie
President Trump and his family are facing a disturbing new security concern after Iranian state television reportedly broadcast threatening material targeting Trump’s 20-year-old son, Barron Trump. The segment allegedly included information about Barron’s movements, social circle, and Secret Service protection before delivering an ominous warning. The Secret Service is aware of the material as tensions between Washington and Tehran continue escalating.
Meanwhile, Iran’s economic situation is becoming increasingly desperate. The Iranian rial has plunged beyond 2 million to one U.S. dollar on the open market, while Iran faces high inflation, unemployment, declining oil revenues, and growing economic isolation.
Now influential figures inside Iran are publicly talking about ending the conflict. Hassan Khomeini, grandson of the founder of Iran’s Islamic Republic, has argued that strategic compromise with America could ultimately benefit Iran more than continuing the war.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has also acknowledged that the war eventually needs to end, while Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has warned that military strength means little if ordinary Iranians are suffering and the economy cannot function.
President Trump’s pressure campaign is also targeting Iran’s leverage over the Strait of Hormuz. Nearly 200 vessels reportedly moved through the critical waterway last week as U.S. Navy escorts helped commercial ships safely navigate the region. Traffic remains below normal levels, but Iran’s ability to threaten global commerce appears to be weakening.
At the same time, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is preparing an enormous new financial offensive designed to sever Iran’s remaining economic lifelines and pressure countries and companies that continue doing business with Tehran.
Back home, CNN polling analyst Harry Enten revealed another major problem for Democrats. Despite Trump facing challenges in some polling categories, Americans continue trusting Republicans more on major kitchen-table issues including inflation, gasoline prices, and the economy.
Former Trump chief of staff Mark Meadows is also warning Republicans that the midterm elections could determine how much of Trump’s agenda gets accomplished.
Finally, I’ll share my recommendation for **The Brink of War**, a powerful new movie about Ronald Reagan, Mikhail Gorbachev, and the historic negotiations that helped bring the Cold War toward an end.
