It is one of the questions Neil deGrasse Tyson is asked again and again.

Neil is one of the world’s most recognised astrophysicists. He runs the Hayden Planetarium, hosts StarTalk and has spent his life making the biggest questions in science feel understandable.

I told Neil something during our conversation that sums up exactly why I wanted to speak again: he's improved the lives of arguably hundreds of millions of people - he has this ability to take the most extraordinary questions seriously without making extraordinary claims too easily.

When he first came on the show, people didn't only learn the science - Neil took these massive, terrifying concepts like black holes, simulation theory and the cosmic perspective and made them make sense.

Then he said something that completely reframed it for me:

“Not only are we alive in this universe, the universe is alive within us.”
