9/11 is a major terrorist act in the history of the World and the United States. In this attack four Passengers, airlines were hijacked by 19 Al-Qaeda terrorists. Two planes were hit to the world trade center and one was hit to the Pentagon. The fourth one was crashed by reaching its destination. Almost 3,996 were killed and another 6,000 were wounded. The United States responded by launching a “War on Terror”. There are many reasons given by Osama Bin Laden to carry out these attacks. One of the main reasons given by Osama Bin Laden was the United States' support to Israel, American support to the atrocities against Muslims in Somalia, Support to Indian opposition against Kashmiri Muslims and Sanctions on Iraq. The attacks were carried out on Sep 11, 2001, when 19 Hijackers took control of 4 flights. Before this Osama also gave his two Fatwas calling for the withdrawal of American soldiers from Saudi Arabia and objections to United States foreign policy regarding Israel. Almost 2,996 people died in this attack and many others injured. In the aftermath of these attacks, there were hate crimes against Muslims in the United States. Many countries in the world condemn these attacks. Britain’s prime minister Tony Blair said Britain stood “Shoulder to Shoulder” with the United States. Many in Afghanistan attempted to flee the country. Pakistan closed its border on Sep 17, 2001. Oct 7, 2001 war in Afghanistan began and on December 7, 2001, with the fall of Kandahar, Taliban's were overthrown. After these attacks, the 9/11 Commission report presented its report in which they identified 19 hijackers with their nationality and pointed out some flaws in the United States Intelligence Service. The report mentioned that Saudi Arabia do not involve in these attacks but still US was the main source of funding for Al-Qaeda. There was no evidence of Saddam Hussain’s involvement in these attacks. Khalid Sheik Muhammad is considered to be the man architect of these attacks and is now in US custody. In the end, the Pentagon was rebuilt within a year and world Trade was opened on November 3, 2014.
