as posted by the channel“Structuralists” believe that human actions are not independent. Human action is influenced by the forces which are beyond the control of individuals. The larger environment in which decisions are made is important to the structuralists. This larger environment includes the political system, the social system, the economic system, or any other larger system. For structuralists, today’s structure is “capitalism”.
Structuralists believe that the economic growth of Japan was the result of a larger Socio-Political environment. After the Cold war, when the world became bipolar, it becomes in the interest of the United States to rebuilt Japan. In 1947 the Chinese Communist Party lead by Mao Zedong won the election and China became communist. The US as the hegemon wanted a strong foot in Asia and Japan was the best choice for US policymakers.
After world war 2, America provided Japan the guaranteed security, capital, technology, and access to the US market. All this lead to the economic development of Japan.
