YouTube Description
as posted by the channelPolitical Science has been defined by different authors in different ways. In general, we can say that political science is the study of politically organized society, political system, or state. In other words, we can say that the study of the state and its institutions is actually the study of political science. There are two approaches to study political science. First is based on the political institutions, the state, and the government. The other is based on the phenomenon of power in human society. Dr. Stephen Leacock defines political science as, “Political science deals with the government”. Similarly, Paul Janet defines it as, “Part of social sciences which treat of the foundation of state and the principles of government”. Additionally, Harold D. Lasswell defines it as “Who gets what, when and how”. Besides these definitions, the word “Politics” was derived from the Greek word “Polls” or “Polis” which means city-state. All the activities and affairs of the city-state were called by their politics. Aristotle was the founder of the science of politics as he analyzed the various constitutions of the Greek city-states. In this way, he became the founder of the science of politics.
