Every Wednesday we address the mean and ignorant comments I get and award the winner for the dumbest comment of the week. Let me know who wins!
So every week I try to be an example of how you should handle any hate or mean comments you get. Recently people have taken these comments seriously. More serious than they really should have. These comments are not constructive and everybody gets them. From the most innocuous creators to the most inflammatory. Being able to laugh at these comments and let them roll off you is an important thing to do. The way that I do it is by reading them in a voice that is appropriate for the comment. Generally, a hick voice but sometimes a drunk hick voice because that is the only way it makes sense. At the end of the day, these comments add nothing to the conversation and shouldn't affect you. That's one of the biggest hurdles I've personally had to overcome. If there is anything that I do for the community, I hope it's laughing off the hate that everybody gets.
For every 10 comments that are hateful, we do have 1 love comment that reminds us of why we do what we do. I know I personally get these on just about every platform. These comments are the fuel of this movement. Each one of you standing up and using your voice to tell us how we affect you in positive ways will keep us going.
