It’s Day 4 of the Alex Murdaugh trial, a once well-respected attorney from South Carolina’s Low Country whose father, grandfather and great grandfather were all prosecutors in Colleton County South Carolina.
Murdaugh is now on trial for the murder of his wife and son. And that’s just a fraction of the story.

Eric was selected for inclusion in the South Carolina Super Lawyers in the 2015, 2016 and 2017 list for excellence and recognition as a Super Lawyer in Professional Liability. He was one of two in the entire State of South Carolina with this honor. Additionally, Eric successfully completed national testing in Legal Malpractice and received board certification as a diplomat in the field of Legal Malpractice by the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys and recorded a score in the top 2% of all attorneys who have ever taken the test
After graduating from the University of Florida, Aimee Zmroczek taught high school U.S. History, after a serious automobile accident and a move to Lexington, South Carolina, she took a job as a paralegal at the Lexington County Public Defender’s office.
Aimee graduated, with honors, in the second class of the Charleston School of Law in May 2008, where she was a member of the Law Review and Moot Court Board. She took a job at McWhirter, Bellinger & Associates out of law school until 2010 when she became ill, recovered, and later that year hung her own shingle. She is now the owner of A.J.Z. Law Firm, LLC. focusing on criminal defense, PCR’s, and Plaintiff’s cases in both state and federal courts.
