as posted by the channelfederal agents in Tempe, Arizona moved in to arrest Mehrzad Asadi Eidivand, an Iranian national with a final removal order dating back to 2013. But when ICE officers arrived, the situation escalated at the front door.
His wife, Linet Vartanniavartanians, refused entry and warned agents not to come inside. Court records say she made direct threats if they tried to enter.
The next day, agents returned with a warrant and tactical support. They forced entry and arrested both husband and wife without further incident.
Both have since admitted guilt in federal court — Mehrzad for being in the country unlawfully with prohibited items, and Linet for making violent threats against federal officers. Sentencing is set for later this year.
This arrest is one of several connected to a nationwide ICE sweep of Iranian nationals in June 2025, which has fueled debate over immigration enforcement and national security.
