Although we haven’t focused on it in depth, the 2022 election featured an array of disinformation and election interference - including some new techniques - and the advent of AI makes the tools available to election interferers both cheaper and harder to combat. Weiser describes the main strategies that law-enforcement and voting rights groups are currently combating, and provides a prognosis of the likely landscape of problems in the 2024 election. The conversation closes with a couple bright spots and some concrete suggestions of how to beat back some of the most prominent tactics.
