Matt Gaetz Report Bombshells

The House ethics report on Matt Gaetz ethics report was finally released and it’s damning. Here’s the topline from the 37 page report -- while Matt Gaetz was a member of congress that he regularly paid multiple women for sex, including a then 17-year-old. In fact, one victim testified before the committee that he had sex with the minor in front of other people at the party.

Puck’s senior political correspondent Abby Livingston breaks down the significance of a report like this being released about a FORMER member of Congress. She talks about Gaetz’s political future and the comeback he has already vowed. He said he plans to either run for Marco Rubio’s Senate seat, governor or come back to Congress until his Congressional seat is filled in April. Livingston breaks down why Congress opened a report on Gaetz after the Department of Justice decided not to press charges.

“In 2017, Representative Gaetz engaged in sexual activity with a 17-year-old girl.” There’s a chance that he did not know that this Junior in hs was underage. She said she didn’t give him her age but when she received the $400 from Gaetz after the act she assumed it was for the sex.

“During the period 2017 to 2019, Representative Gaetz used or possessed illegal

drugs, including cocaine and ecstasy, on multiple occasions.” This was obviously when Gaetz was a member of congress.”

There are House rules and state and federal laws that prohibit prostitution, statutory rape, illicit drug use, acceptance of impermissible gifts and special favors.

The committee said they didn’t find enough evidence to accuse him of sex trafficking, although they did find that they paid for the travel of women over 18 to have sex with him.

Many of the women were contacted by Gaetz’s former friend Joel Greenberg, who is spending 11 years in prison, on seekinarrangment.com, a website where women go to find older wealthy men to date. The two would split the costs of the hotels and girls, according to the report. Apparently Gaetz made tens of thousands of dollars in payments to women for sexual activity and drug use. One of the women who was interviewed by the committee said she received $5,000 for Gaetz in exchange for sex over time. One woman said she witnesses Gaetz taking the cocaine. The committee said he also paid a woman between $500 to $1000 to be his date at events. The Committee didn’t find evidence that Gaetz knew that the girls were underage, but

They accused Gaetz of obstructing and stonewalling the committee’s work

Apparently, the DOJ did not cooperate with their investigation either offering meaningful evidence so they had to basically conduct their own investigation.

Gaetz has denied all allegations of underage sex or drug use. The Justice Department investigated the allegations and decided not to press charges against Gaetz in 2023. But he wasn’t exonerated like he claimed. He has denied the allegations but has also refused to testify under oath. Best case scenario was that he didn’t know that she was 17 years old.
