It was the "perfect storm" of racism, MLK whitewashing, whitesplaining, misogyny and mansplaining when Biden surrogate Hilary Rosen joined the National Co-Chair of Bernie Sanders' campaign, Nina Turner on CNN, with Chris Cuomo.
When Nina Turner referenced Dr. Martin Luther King's warning about how dangerous and damaging "white moderates" to the cause of racial, social and economic justice, in a heightened state of clueless white privilege, Rosen interrupted Turner to inform her that when it comes to MLK, she had no "standing" to quote him. WHAT??
Rosen ALSO white-washed MLK's warning about "white moderates" (as "white moderates" and Republicans are apt to do) and WRONGLY, but oh-so-adamantly, asserted that he was ACTUALLY talking about the purported "silence" of the white moderate - not their danger to society.
Um... No. MLK ACTUALLY said exactly what Nina Turner said - namely - that we should all beware the "white moderate" more than the robed KKK member since the "white moderate" pretends to be on the side of justice while standing in its way - just as outright racist does. By proclaiming allegiance to justice while simultaneously standing in its way, the white moderate is, in many ways, more dangerous than the overt racist.
