There is nothing more PROGRESSIVE than pledging one's life, fortune and sacred honor to each other.
There is nothing more PROGRESSIVE than leaving no one behind.
REAL Patriots don't leave any of their fellows behind - be it on the battlefield of war, or the battlefield of sickness, homelessness, hunger, poverty.
Universal health care, universal higher education, guaranteed living wages and retirement security are not just "nice" "moral" ideas - they are PATRIOTIC IMPERATIVES.
As are progressive taxes, high marginal tax rates and estate taxes that prevent the growth and power of intergenerational aristocracy capable of reaching out to control the government founded on "E Pluribus Unum."
