Voter suppression is not limited to restrictive voting laws, polling-place closures, voter-ID barriers, long lines, ballot-drop-box limits, or restrictions on vote-by-mail. Fear can suppress turnout, too.
If eligible voters worry that ICE agents or other federal immigration-enforcement officials may be near polling locations, watching them, questioning them, or targeting people in their community, some may decide it is not safe to vote at all.
