5:40Now PlayingI spent some time with Danny and Saleem, two brothers I met in Greenville, South Carolina. During a simple trip to pick up shoes for Danny, Saleem rode along—and what unfolded was an unexpected and powerful conversation.
As we talked, Saleem opened up about his journey toward sustained recovery and his desire to take the next steps toward stable housing.
Being with these brothers reminded me of the power in simply showing up, listening, and holding space for people who haven’t always had the room to express themselves. Conversations—real, honest ones—can shift something in a person. Sometimes, they can even change the course of a life.
Let this be a reminder: your presence might be the turning point someone else needs.
