In this video, I talk about the difference between sympathy vs empathy. Especially in dynamics between the dismissive avoidant and the anxious preoccupied, it's common for the anxiously attached to assume their partner has similar wounds and expectations, so they express their sympathy to them when something that would trigger them happens to their partner. However this can, in turn, make their partner feel like they are not being understood. This is a very important lesson to learn for all relationship dynamics, especially as you progress into the power struggle stage of your relationship and your wounds or pain points start to be shown more authentically. Enjoy!
