I don't have a specific place where I pray. I don't even really have an alter at home. With the exception of the area I put my most sacred blessed items, I don't pray there. I tend to pray in bed, on the sofa, and most invigorating for me... Outdoors, while on a walk.
God told us... He is everywhere. Emmanuel - which means God WITH us! He is the alpha and the omega. The beginning and the end. So no matter where you go, there He is, and there you are.
Christ told us to pray without ceasing. And this has had an even greater impact. I've spent days praying the Daily Office/Holy Hours because it feels amazing knowing Catholics around the globe are magnifying our prayers to the Lord 6 times a day at the same time. How powerful.
More often I do the morning prayer (lauds), evening prayer when I can (vespers), and the night prayer (compline). In between I'm listening to Bible In A Year w/ Fr Mike, the daily mass readings, and now the Catechism In A Year w/ Fr Mike. And of course, our most powerful prayer, the most Holy Rosary.
Praying without ceasing, praying in nature, praying at home. These are all what breathes life into me. How about you? Do you have a routine or a place? Share in the comments.
