as posted by the channelWhat started as a mortification last month for missing First Saturday mass has now become a staple that I cannot live without. Daily mass SUPER early in the morning.
It was a true sacrifice to attend a mass before 8am. I started to notice that going to mass at noon for me left me to drag along my mornings, hit the snooze button way too much, and give me an excuse to push work and my workouts to later in the day.
Oftentimes this would impact my workouts as excuses why I couldn't get to the gym were far easier. And, I also found I procrastinated with work because I was waking up later and it was messing with my schedule overall.
Now, I do two things that has been tremendous in my spiritual life and daily life. 1) Spring right out of bed and do what's called the "Heroic Minute." Conceptualized by St. Josemaría Escrivá, I take a moment to tell God I will serve Him, commit my day to Him, and submit my will to Him. 2) Get to 7:30am mass!
I'm fasted upon waking and I have a promise to myself and Christ. The first meal of the day is The Bread of Life. It's the only food I truly need to have life. It's the true Breakfast of Champions that will have you moving mountains and being a true light in this world.
