YouTube Description
as posted by the channelThe other day, on August 6th, we celebrated the Feast of the Transfiguration of Our Lord.
As I went on my Rosary walk that morning, I couldn’t stop thinking about what this moment means for our bodies. On Mount Tabor, Jesus didn’t set His body aside to reveal His glory — He revealed it through His body. His face shone like the sun. His garments radiated pure light. It was a glimpse of the glory that awaits all of us in the Resurrection.
And that hit me: the same body that walked dusty roads, grew tired, and felt hunger… became radiant with divine light.
That means something for you and me today.
Your body is not just a machine to optimize or a project to “fix.” It’s not a prison for your soul. It’s part of you, created in the image of God, destined for glory. When we care for it, train it, and discipline it with the right intention, we begin to live in that truth now.
Fitness, when rooted in God, isn’t about vanity or punishment. It’s about preparing your temple for the mission He’s given you. It’s about letting your physical discipline become a reflection of your spiritual devotion. It’s about training for your own Mount Tabor moments — when His light shines through you.
Here’s how you can live this out starting today:
1. Pray with your body.
Take a Rosary walk. Offer each step as prayer. Let your breath remind you of the Spirit living in you.
2. Train with reverence.
Work out with the intention of honoring the gift you’ve been given. Let discipline be worship. Let your sweat be sacrifice.
3. Keep your “why” rooted in heaven.
When you feel tired or tempted to quit, remember you’re not just building a physique — you’re forming the strength and stamina to carry out God’s call in your life.
If this reflection stirs something in you, I want to invite you to follow my other profile, Theology of Fitness, where I share more on integrating faith and training so your fitness journey becomes a path to holiness.
