The Catholic Church is alive, and Pope Leo XIV has stepped into his pontificate at a moment when Gen Z is hungrier than ever for tradition, reverence, and the Eucharist.

I’m so excited to share that I was recently approached by the National Catholic Reporter to write an article about my hopes for Pope Leo XIV’s papacy. And now, I can officially say I’m a published Catholic writer.

✝️👉🏿 Read the full article here:

This was such an honor, especially knowing their readership is often seen as more progressive, and I was able to bring a voice rooted in orthodox Catholic faith to the conversation.

In the article, I talk about the renewal I see in the Church. Gen Z Catholics are showing up for confession, adoration, and daily Mass in ways that defy the narrative of decline. They aren’t nostalgic - they’re seeking stability, truth, and Christ Himself in the Eucharist.

And the numbers don’t lie. This past Easter, over 5,500 people entered the Catholic Church in Los Angeles alone, the largest number in more than a decade. Nearly 3,000 catechumens received full initiation, while another 2,800 candidates came into full communion from other Christian traditions, an 84% increase from last year. Across the U.S., dioceses reported record-breaking numbers of new Catholics. The Church is not dying. The Church is alive.

That’s why my challenge in this article to Pope Leo XIV is simple: don’t fear this hunger. Shepherd it. Embrace it. Lean into the Spirit moving through the young Church right now.
