The great and powerful President Donald J. Trump just hosted the recently elected hard-right Japanese nationalist Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi at the White House, and it was a glorious love fest between the two leaders and the two nations, with much mutual respect expressed, billions in deals announced, and a re-strengthened political and military alliance between the two countries that provides a hard check on China’s military aspirations in the Pacific and elsewhere.
The very productive US & Japan meetup also highlights by contrast the ineptitude of other world leaders who find themselves incapable of working with Trump—including Canada, most of Europe, and the entirety of NATO.
Bottom line what Trump continues to accomplish is not merely tactical victories here and there around the globe—although he certainly accomplishes those—but a complete re-drafting of the world’s geopolitical landscape in a manner far more favorable to the United States than has existed in my lifetime.
