16:28Now PlayingDerek Chauvin is making another attempt to overturn his conviction in the death of George Floyd. I have long believed Chauvin was railroaded—but that doesn't mean I'm going to pretend every legal argument made on his behalf is a winning one.
In today's show, I revisit the evidence from the George Floyd case, including the drugs found in Floyd's system and in the police cruiser, the role of Maurice Hall, the medical examiner's findings, the restraint technique Chauvin was trained to use, and the enormous prosecutorial resources deployed against a single defense attorney. I also examine the new post-conviction argument that Chauvin was improperly denied a grand jury and explain why, despite my view of the underlying prosecution, I don't believe that particular argument is likely to get him a new trial.
