UPDATE: On Friday, Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt commuted Julius Jones' sentence, taking Jones off Death Row and sentencing him to life in prison without parole. The parole board had recommended a sentence of life in prison, with the option of parole. Julius has maintained his innocence, saying he has an alibi but was framed by the actual perpetrator, who also served time, but had a lesser sentence and was released as apart of a plea deal in which they testified against Jones.
