What’s an inspiring, or hopeful, piece of climate related news you’ve learned about recently? How do we overcome the despair that surrounds the news these days, especially about the state of our planet? Drop some thoughts or climate victories in the comments.
It’s hard not to fall into the trap of climate doomerism. But can we afford cynicism and defeat at a time like this? Who wins if we resign ourselves? *cough* OIL EXECUTIVES! Yes, things are bleak out there, but it’s important to remind ourselves that there’s far more for each of us to do, and to get involved in. Here are a few ways that our guests try to stay energized and hopeful:
-Reconnecting with nature, either by yourself or with your family, by going on walks and getting in touch with the natural world that surrounds you.
-Supporting frontline struggles in the fight against climate change, either with your feet or with your dollars.
-Staying aware of the intersectional movements that are forming around the fight for climate justice.
