Jim Jordan and now Ron DeSantis can't wait for the tech billionaire to take over. Of course they usually despise big tech because it's got rules against hate speech (!) and has kicked their God off of Twitter, so what gives them the impression that Elon will be much better?
Elon and the world's favorite sad place have a long history with one another that involves a lot of pump and dump artificial stock inflation and then the SEC. But a couple of weeks ago Elon Musk bought the largest stake in Twitter, nearly 10%. He was then appointed to the 11-member board and started floating all kinds of ideas about how to make the platform "better". Like giving anyone a blue checkmark who can buy it.
Then Twitter announced that no, they weren't going to appoint him to the board. And maybe in response Elon announced that he wants to now BUY the company for $43 billion and take it private. Will he succeed? Oy vey the saga continues...
