Put another way, can the struggles of the American working class ever be decoupled from the issue or racism? Unfortunately, in a country whose palaces of power were built by enslaved black people and whose resources were acquired through the genocide of indigenous people, it’s impossible.
To have an understanding of the ruling ideology of “White-Supremacist Capitalist Patriarchy,” we cannot have a class-first, class-only understanding of the world. Sure, maybe you can get away with that in a Marxist analysis of Central Europe in the 20th century, but it won’t get you very far in a country founded by an elite class of white men, who owned people of a different skin color and systematically disenfranchised women. Our analysis needs to be more intersectional.
