as posted by the channelWhat shocked you the most from the leaked Alito ruling on Roe V Wade? Last week, an anonymous source (who is definitely not a conservative associated with the most extreme branch of the court) leaked a draft of the upcoming SCOTUS ruling on a right to an abortion. The leaked ruling confirmed many of our worst fears to be true: the court is likely going to go all the way and completely gut this fundamental human right.
There were many shocking aspects of this leaked ruling. Of all of the eye popping false claims and distorted reality, one of them stood out slightly above the rest: In his opinion, Aliton cites an 17th Century English Jurist named Matthew Hale, who among other things, was a firm believer that marital rape does not exist and that it was legal and good to condem and murder women for being witches.
This bombshell ruling will come later in the year in the case Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. While the justices still have time to adjust their ruling slightly, the contours of our new reality are coming into shape, and it’s about as bad as it could possibly be. We’re on track to criminalize abortion and calcify an intrenched ruling theocracy that is completely outside of democratic accountability. Time to rise up!
