When it comes to Roe, or literally anything, the only thing that elite Democrats are able to say to their constituents is “vote harder.” It’s hard to take this seriously when Democrats have observed the Republican mobilization against Roe and have had zero legislative solutions despite being in power numerous times since Roe was first decided in the 1970s.
While Madam Speaker Pelosi is going on about “how hard Democrats have tried” to secure abortion rights, let’s also keep in mind that her PAC is supporting antichoice Democrats across the country, who are currently being primaried by proabortion challengers. Like Rep. Henry Cuellar in Texas who is currently under an FBI investigation for corruption. EVERYONE SUPPORT JESSICA CISNEROS RIGHT NOW who is running against Cuellar on a workingclass progressive plank.
Pelosi and national Democrats want to have a “big tent” party, where you can be anti-choice and also a Democrat, while simultaneously saying that Democrats will fight for abortion (without ever saying the word). How does that even work?
