After another terrible massacre of children, this time in Texas, Republicans are trying to give some solutions now that their tried and true solution of “arms literally everyone in school” was shown to be wishful thinking. The new set of talking points with “safety” ideas that Republicans have begun to trot out is truly something to behold.
Some conservatives blamed doors, saying that if there was only one entrance this never would have happened (apparently none of these people have ever heard of a fire code). Other suggestions included arming teachers (again), and finally, to replace all the students in every American classroom with cops so that they’ll already be on the scene if anything happens (ok, this last one is a joke, but honestly we’re not far from that. Also maybe cops should go back to school.)
Other suggestions included tax brakes, somehow, or to add fences, and the reintroduction of Judeo-Christian values in schools. ANYTHING to avoid stricter gun laws. Is your neck hurting from all the whiplash? I know mine is.
